What are call logs and how do they work?

Call logs provide a detailed record of your phone system's call activity. You can view logs for different types of calls, including inbound, outbound, dial-out, recorded, and recorded conference calls. These logs can be accessed from the "Calls Menu".


Here’s a breakdown of each call type:

  • Inbound Calls: These are calls that come into your system, typically from external callers. The log will show the details of the incoming calls, such as the time of the call, the caller’s information, and the extension or department that received the call.

  • Outbound Calls: These are calls made from your system to external numbers. The log includes information about the time of the call, the destination number, and the user or extension that made the call.

  • Dial-Out Calls: This is done by authorizing dial-out numbers (e.g. your cell phone number) to call one of your access numbers and place a call. This log shows when and to whom the call was made, as well as any associated details. This feature must be added separately under "Settings" > "Extras".

  • Recorded Calls: If your account includes the Recorded Calls feature, it will log any recorded calls. The log will include the call’s start and end time, along with the option to listen to or download the recorded call. This feature must be added separately under "Settings" > "Extras".

  • Recorded Conferences: This log tracks conference calls that have been recorded. It includes details about the participants, the time the conference began and ended, and the availability of the recording. This feature must be added separately under "Settings" > "Extras".

Additional Features:

  • Search and Filter Options: You can easily search and filter your call logs by date, type of call, and other criteria. This allows you to quickly find specific calls or review certain periods of activity.

  • Download Option: If you need to export your call logs for further analysis or record-keeping, you can download a CSV file of your call log by selecting the "Download List" option. This provides a detailed, downloadable report of your call activity.
