What are Extensions?

Understanding Extensions with Unitel Voice

Extensions are an essential feature of your Unitel Voice account. They allow you to set up individual users or groups, route calls efficiently, and streamline communication for your organization. Extensions can be thought of as specific "lines" or "channels" through which calls are routed, ensuring that the right person or department is reached.

Types of Extensions

  1. Employee Extensions (Users): These extensions are assigned to individual users, providing each person with a dedicated number or line.
  2. Department Extensions (Groups): These are group lines that route calls to a specific department, such as Sales or Support.

Why Are Extensions Important?

Extensions allow your team to handle calls more efficiently. By setting up extensions for employees and departments, you make it easier for your clients and customers to connect with the right person. It also allows you to track call data per extension, ensuring optimal call management.
