How can I change the Unitel app permissions to my contacts / camera / microphone after the app is installed?

When first installing the Unitel Voice Mobile App, you’ll be prompted to allow access to your contacts, camera, and microphone. These permissions help improve functionality, such as displaying caller names, making video calls, and recording voicemail greetings.

If you didn’t grant permissions during installation or need to change them later, follow the steps below for your device.

Managing Permissions on iOS (Apple) Devices

  1. Open your iPhone Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy & Security.
  3. Select the permission you want to update (Contacts, Camera, or Microphone).
  4. Scroll down and find "Unitel Voice" in the list.
  5. Toggle the permission ON or OFF as needed.

Managing Permissions on Android Devices

  1. Open your Android Settings.
  2. Tap Apps & Notifications.
  3. Select App Permissions.
  4. Choose the permission you want to update (Contacts, Camera, or Microphone).
  5. Scroll down and find "Unitel Voice".
  6. Toggle the permission ON or OFF as needed.

Why Enable These Permissions?

  • Contacts – Displays the caller’s name on inbound calls and allows you to quickly dial saved contacts.
  • Camera – Enables video calling (if applicable) and in-app photo use.
  • Microphone – Required for making and receiving calls, as well as recording custom voicemail greetings.

Important Note for iOS Users:
Even if the microphone access is enabled, you may still be unable to record a custom voicemail greeting directly from your iPhone. Click here to learn more.
