What is the "Ring for..." field?

When configuring your extension, you will be required to fill out the "Ring for..." field when entering a forwarding number.

This is used to determine how long the system will attempt to ring to that number before moving on to the next number in the sequence, or going to the virtual voicemail.

RECOMMENDED DURATIONS:

  •      Landline - 15 seconds
  •      Mobile Devices - 20 seconds
  •      Not Using System Voicemail - 60 seconds

If you are only forwarding to one number, then the system will attempt to ring to that number for the duration of seconds in the "Ring for..." field, and will then go to the virtual voicemail.

If you are forwarding to more than one number, then the system will attempt to ring to that number for the duration of seconds in "Ring for..." field, and will then go to the next forwarding number in the sequence, until ultimately no more numbers are in sequence, and will finally result in the virtual voicemail.
