While we typically recommend the Auto Attendant Setup to provide the best customer experience, sometimes users need to forward calls directly to the Unitel Voice Mobile App. And that’s easy to do!
In this guide, we'll show you how to forward your Unitel Voice phone number to your mobile app.
This Simple Call Forwarding Setup has 4 steps:
- Forward your Unitel Voice Number to Department Extension 0
- Create an Employee Extension Forwarding to the Mobile App
- Add your Employee Extension to Department Extension 0
- Change your Music On-Hold to “Ringtone”
Step 1: Forward Your Unitel Voice Number to Department Extension 0
1. Log into your Unitel Voice account and go to Settings > Your Numbers.
2. Find your number and click Edit.
3. Under Forwarding Options, select Transfer to Extension.
4. Choose Extension 0 and click Save.
Step 2: Create an Employee Extension Forwarding to the Mobile App
1. Go to Extensions and click Add Extension.
2. Enter your name, email, and select a time zone. Set your permission level to Admin. Uncheck the invitation email box and click Add.
3. In General Information, turn on Mobile App & Devices to forward calls to your mobile.
4. Download the Unitel Voice Mobile App from the Apple Store or Google Play.
5. Open the app and scan the QR code to log in automatically or enter your credentials.
6. In Forwarding Extensions & Numbers, delete the default forwarding number by clicking the trash can icon and hitting OK.
7. In Voicemail Forwarding, enter the email address to forward your voicemails.
8. To set your Voicemail Greeting, click Add your own greeting and select Record by computer. Use the recording tool to create your greeting. Save it and make sure it’s selected.
9. Then scroll up and click “Save” to save the extension’s settings.
Step 3: Add Employee Extension to Department Extension 0
1. Go to Department Extensions and click Edit on Department Extension 0.
2. In Forwarding Extensions & Numbers, delete the default forwarding number by clicking the trash can icon and hitting OK.
3. Click Add a Forwarding Number and select each employee extension to forward calls. You can add a description and set the Ring Duration to 15 seconds. Click Create.
4. If you need to adjust the Forwarding Schedule for an extension, click Edit on the employee extension, adjust the schedule, and set Call Announcement to OFF. Click Save.
Step 4: Change Your Music On-Hold to “Ringtone”
1. Go to Settings > Music On-Hold.
2. In the drop-down menu, select Ringtone and click Save.
And that's it. You're done!
