Your Main Greeting is the first message callers hear when they dial your number. It’s important to use this greeting to both welcome callers and provide them with a list of options.
For example:
"Thank you for calling ABC Company. For sales, press 1. For support, press 2. For our dial-by-name directory, press 8."
How to Set Up Your Main Greeting (in 4 Simple Steps)
Navigate to "Settings"
Go to Settings and then select Greetings.
Select Your Greeting
In the Greetings section, you’ll see your current main greeting. By default, a greeting will already be set up. To add a new greeting, click the "Add your own greeting" button.
Record or Upload Your Greeting
You can either:- Upload an MP3 file, or
- Record using your device’s microphone.
- Once your greeting is saved, ensure it’s selected as the active greeting.
- Important Note: Apple/iOS devices prevent recording directly through your browser. If you're using a non-Apple device, ensure your microphone has access. If you encounter issues, click here for alternative recording options.
Set Default Behavior
You can also choose what happens if a caller does not select an extension:- The Main Greeting can repeat.
- Or, the caller can be forwarded to a specific extension of your choice.
