Managing Your Phone Numbers In Unitel Voice

? Important: Before making changes to your phone number settings, it’s helpful to understand how Unitel Voice routes calls. If you're unsure how to set up your phone system, read this guide first:

Where to Find and Manage Your Phone Numbers

You can manage all your phone numbers in "Settings" > "Your Numbers."

From this section, you can:

  • Adjust call forwarding options
  • Change caller ID preferences
  • Manage fax settings
  • Set up custom tags for tracking
  • Add new numbers to your account

How to Edit a Phone Number’s Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings > Your Numbers in your Unitel Voice account.
  2. Find the number you want to adjust and click Edit.
  3. A settings menu will appear with different customization options.

Phone Number Settings Overview

Call Forwarding Options

  • Play My Main Greeting – Calls to this number will hear your main greeting before being routed.
  • Transfer to Extension – Calls bypass the main greeting and go directly to a selected department or employee extension.

Caller ID Display Options

  • Caller's Number – Your mobile phone’s caller ID will display the original caller’s number.
  • Virtual Office Number – Your mobile phone’s caller ID will display your Unitel Voice number instead.

? Tip: Save your Unitel Voice number in your contacts to easily recognize business calls.


Fax Notification Preferences

Choose How You Receive Faxes

  • Copy (Recommended) – Faxes are converted to PDFs and emailed to the Notification Email while also being stored in your Inbox for 60 days.
  • None – Faxes are not saved or forwarded.
  • Forward – Faxes are converted to PDFs, emailed to the Notification Email, and then deleted from the system.
  • Notify – Faxes are stored in your Inbox, and a notification email is sent (without the PDF attachment).

Notification Email

The email address where fax notifications will be sent based on your selected preference.


Additional Settings ("Other Options" Dropdown)

Time Zone

Set your primary time zone to ensure accurate call logs and proper after-hours greeting timing.

Music on Hold

  • Choose from our selection of hold music, upload your own, or disable music entirely.
  • Changes may take up to 2 minutes to take effect.

Number Tags

  • Assign a Number Tag to each phone number for easy identification.
  • Tags help track calls from different marketing campaigns or business functions.
