To ensure the best experience when using the Unitel Voice mobile app, follow these best practices for setup and configuration.
Getting Started
- Download the Unitel Voice App – iOS | Android
- Log in to the app on your device using your Employee Extension credentials.
Important: You cannot register a Department Extension to the app—only an Employee Extension can be used.
Recommended Configuration
If your business uses Department Extensions, follow this setup to ensure calls route correctly to the app.
Recommended Setup:
- Forward Department Extensions (e.g., Ext. 0 & Ext. 1) to an Employee Extension (e.g., Ext. 700) that is registered to the app.
- This setup ensures all department calls ring through to the mobile app properly.
Not Recommended:
- Forwarding Department Extensions (e.g., Ext. 0 or Ext. 1) directly to a 10-digit number can lead to call handling issues.
Other Recommended Settings
1. Avoid Using "Call Announce"
- Turning on Call Announce for any extension may cause routing issues or incorrect caller ID display on the app.

2. Avoid Forwarding Calls to a 10-Digit Number & the App in the Same Employee Extension
- While some customers may have a special need to do this, it is not recommended for most configurations.
